The author states in the Preface that he puts this forward as an unsystematic contribution to what he is conscious is a very great subject, and he adds since Aristotle, an almost untouched by:   InOxford University Press published "A New Handbook of Political Science," edited by Robert Goodin The science and method of politics book Hans-Dieter Klingemann.

This volume is the successor of that work, valuable on its own merits. A disciplinary handbook should give readers a sense of research and theory in the various areas of that discipline/5(11). Methodology of political science. Political Science is thus an organized body of knowledge the facts of which have been scientifically and systematically observed collected and classified and from these facts are formulated and proved a series of propositions or principles which form the basis of the science.

These principles are used as a groundwork for further investigation. Many, perhaps most, political scientists in North America still believe that a “hard science” of political behavior is possible. After all, humans are just complex animals, and if animal behavior will ultimately be explained by the study of physical, chemical, biotic, and psychic laws, then a hard science of politics should be possible.

Apart from power, Political Science also focuses on comparative politics, international relations, political theory, public law and public policy. Most importantly, the study of Political Science gives us the basic understanding of the political process, the system of government and the way in which it affects the life of every citizen.
